11/11/11 iChallenge to Fight Human Trafficking

11/11/11 iCHALLENGE TO FIGHT HUMAN TRAFFICKING: The Florida Gulf Coast University (FGCU) Student Abolitionist Movement (SAM), FGGU Honors Program, and the FGCU Office of Service-Learning and Civic Engagement are teaming up to put on a 3 part Fundraising Event to benefit Beauty From Ashes™ (BFA) Ministries, a not-for-profit charity dedicated to preventing, rescuing and restoring victims of sex trafficking and commercialized sexual exploitation.

In Part I, on Wednesday, October 5th, videos will be constantly streaming on the main campus of the university library lawn and SAM members will be distributing awareness materials and answering questions 11am-2:30pm. This event will kickoff the BFA fund raising campaign, the 11-11-11 iChallenge to Fight Human Trafficking

Part II is a movie night on campus featuring the documentary, "Very Young Girls", Wednesday November 2nd 7pm.  (Free popcorn!) 

Part III is a banquet featuring BFA founder, Julie Shematz, Salvation Army's, Myrna Molinari, Women at Risk (WAR) International's founder, Becky McDonald, and other local service agency representatives, on Friday, November 18th in the Student Union, Room 214 at 6pm. (Free food!) 

What is the 11/11/11 iChallenge?

For any person who donates at least $11 their name will be entered into a drawing for $111. And for the person who donates at least $11 and collects $11 from 11 of their friends ($121) their name will be entered into a larger prize drawing.  The winners of the prize drawings will be announced at the banquet on November 18th.  To give securely online, CLICK HERE and take the 11/11/11 iChallenge!  For more information, CLICK HERE
