National OutREACH Training, Gift Assembly & More Upcoming Events!

NATIONAL STRIP CLUB OUTREACH TRAINING:  Since 2004, Beauty From Ashes (BFA) Ministries has been providing conferences and hands on training for strip club outREACHes and back by popular demand, we're doing it again in 2012!  We have two dates for you to choose from: January 11-14 and July 26-28.   Find out how human trafficking is connected to the sex industry, learn unique outREACH strategies and how to implement them,  how to best serve clients, mental health challenges you'll face,  the ABC's to building and training your team, how to care for your aftercare workers, community engagement, and MORE!  For more information and to register, CLICK HERE   

STRIP CLUB OUTREACH:  Our next strip club outREACH is Saturday, September 17th.  We'll be serving a home cooked meal and distributing gifts that include human trafficking awareness information inside the locker room of our "adopted" strip club here in Fort Myers, FL.

OUTREACH GIFT & CARE PACKAGE ASSEMBLY THIS FRIDAY:  On the 1st and 2nd Fridays of the month from 9am-noon we meet to inventory beauty supplies and assemble outREACH and care packages.  We meet in Room 500-5 of Barry University.  Make plans to join us today!  Learning and community service hours available.

September Prayer Alert for Beauty From Ashes

Greetings Prayer Partners,


Thank you for your faithful and consistent prayers for Beauty From Ashes™ (BFA) Ministries.  The prayers of the righteous availeth much and your prayers continue to make up the foundation of this agency and are making a difference in lives of countless individuals.  Below are September's prayer requests.  


CLIENTS:  Please pray for our local and national clients' mental, physical and spiritual healing, that they have sound minds, and the courage to commit to the long term healing journey.  May they receive a revelation of God's love for them and who they are in Christ. 


OUTREACHES:  Thank God for the favor we have with sex business management and employees.  Pray that the Father's love will be evident in and through the team as they operate in unity and one accord.  May those we reach receive the revelation of who God is, how much He loves them, and embrace the truth that will set them free to be everything they were destined to be.  Agree with us that outreach team members would continue to multiply as our territory expands according to God's will.  


ASSESSMENT/RESOURCE CENTER:  Please agree with us for God's perfect will and provision of funding for a professionally run, integrated and comprehensive assessment/resource center for victims of commercialized sexual exploitation and human sex trafficking.  Pray that God would send in the resources and qualified staff from the North, South, East, and West. Thank Him with us that in His perfect timing this vision will come to pass.  


FUND RAISING:  Pray that God would raise up more businesses, agencies, churches, ministries, and individuals to initiate creative fund raising for BFA. 


FREEdom™ HOMES BEST PRACTICES PROJECT:  Pray that God would continue to unite multiple governmental and non governmental agencies to work collaboratively in the development of the Best Practices for residential homes for sex trafficking victims.  (Currently there are none).  Pray for a spirit of unity and harmony and that these agencies will work together in the best interest of victims.  


PARTNERSHIPS:  Pray that God would continue to align us with the professional, governmental, private, corporate and faith based partnerships that are of His perfect will and nothing less.  


VOLUNTEERS:  Pray for strength, encouragement and perseverance for current volunteers and that God would raise up more called, anointed, and committed servants.  Please agree with us for a Volunteer Coordinator.  


BOARD OF DIRECTORS AND ADVISORS:  Pray for health, protection, wisdom, encouragement, and divine direction for BFA.  May all directors operate in one accord, in tune with the Holy Spirit.  


STAFF:  Agree with us for a technologically competent Business Administrator and/or Office Manager. Pray with us that our founder, Julie Shematz, will begin her second year of full time graduate school, and second semester of interning as a mental health counselor, rested and with a clear mind. 


EVENTS:  Wisdom and discernment to know what and/or who BFA is to be involved with or not.  Pray that God will raise up a BFA Event Coordinator.


CURRICULUM DEVELOPMENT:  Please pray for the completion of the project and for the funding for the DVD production and marketing of campaign.


OTHER LIKE MINISTRIES/AGENCIES:  Pray for unity amongst one another and humbleness, wisdom, and patience in reaching, rescuing and restoring victims.  May the level of professionalism be raised and licensed counselors and professional service providers unite with them to provide restoration services and program development.  Pray for balance, biblical priorities, and protection of marriages and families.  May strong boundaries be established and maintained for aftercare providers.  May God's strength and encouragement be imparted to all in the name of Jesus.

Strip Club OutREACH, BFA Services, ArtREACH & More!

STRIP CLUB OUTREACH REPORT: On Saturday, August 13th, the Beauty From Ashes (BFA) outREACH team served up a home made Italian meal to the employees of a Fort Myers, FL strip club.  The team also distributed outREACH gifts that included make up and information on human trafficking, as well as the services BFA provides to victims of commercialized sexual exploitation and sex trafficking. The team loved the employees, demonstrating love through action and had the opportunity to not only pray, but to provide a licensed counselor to them. We are pleased to report that the employees took immediately to our new Executive Director, Mary Lewis LCSW, who was part of the team, and a number of them followed up by receiving services outside of the club in the past two weeks. 

BEAUTY FROM ASHES SERVICES:  BFA educates the community, advocates for and reaches, rescues, and restores both victims of sexual exploitation and sex workers.  Since 2005, we've served over 800 clients and currently provide the following services: transitional assistance, life skills, financial assistance and management, as well as crisis, individual, group, mental health, spiritual and career counseling. We also provide bible study, hospital visitation, and prayer.  Additionally, we facilitate referrals for victim services, physical health, education, church support, short term and long term housing, drug and alcohol rehabilitation, and legal assistance.  If you have previously worked in or currently are in the sex industry and desire a lifestyle change, please contact us on our toll free Help Line, 877 4BFA SOS (877-423-2767).  If you're a case worker and/or agency with a client in need of our services, contact Mary Lewis at (239) 939-9218 or mlewis@beautyfromashes.org.

ARTREACH: On Monday, August 29th, BFA founder and human trafficking overcomer, Julie Shematz, will be speaking to a group of youth and teens on Sanibel Island at Big Arts.  Event is sponsored by Human Trafficking Awareness Partnerships.
