HUMAN TRAFFICKING & BEAUTY FROM ASHES' VIDEO BY FGCU STUDENTS DEBUTED: On Monday, July 18th, a group of six student abolitionists from Florida Gulf Coast University organized an on campus human trafficking and Beauty From Ashes (BFA) awareness event. The group of young women created an impressive and powerful public service announcement on sex trafficking that can be viewed HERE. NBC2 was there, interviewed our new Executive Director, Mary Lewis, and featured a story on the evening news.
A huge thanks to Professor Rhea of the Civic Foundations course for inviting our founder, Julie Shematz, to come share about the topic and an even bigger thanks to Lauren Barbush, Emily Goldman, Ashley Grazziano, Brittany Bowen, Ashley Hoffner, and Kara Feliciano for responding and working collaboratively to raise awareness and operational funds.
