11/11/11 iCHALLENGE: The Florida Gulf Coast University (FGCU) Student Abolitionist Movement (SAM), FGGU Honors Program, and the FGCU Office of Service-Learning and Civic Engagement are teaming up to put on a 3 part Fundraising Event to benefit Beauty From Ashes™ (BFA) Ministries.
Part I, on October 5th, kicked off the BFA fund raising campaign, the 11-11-11 iChallenge to Fight Human.
Part II is a movie night on campus featuring the film "Very Young Girls", Wednesday November 2nd 6-10pm on the library lawn of FGCU (Free popcorn!). Bring a blanket and/or lawn chair and join us!
Part III is a banquet. Speakers include myself, Salvation Army's Myrna Molinari, and Women at Risk (WAR) International's founder, Becky McDonald on Friday, November 18th in the Student Union, Room 214 5-8pm. (Free food!)
What is the 11/11/11 iChallenge?
For any person who donates at least $11 their name will be entered into drawing for $111. And for the person who donates at least $11 and collects $11 from 11 of their friends ($121) their name will be entered into a larger prize drawing. STAFF SEARCH: The BFA Personnel Search Committee, in collaboration with one of our partners, is accepting applications for a Clinical Program Manager, Residential Program Manager, and Case Workers. OUTREACH GIFT & CARE PACKAGE ASSEMBLY 1st & 2nd FRIDAYS: Every month, BFA distributes between 50-100 outREACH gift and care packages to victims and survivors of human trafficking locally and nationally. On the 1st and 2nd Fridays of the month from 9am-noon we meet to assemble these gifts of love, hope, and truth. We meet in Room 500-5 of Barry University. Our next meetings are November 4th & 11th.
