In Part I, on Wednesday, October 5th, human trafficking awareness videos will be constantly streaming on the main campus of the university library lawn and SAM members will be distributing awareness materials and answering questions 11am-2:30pm. This event will kickoff BFA fund raising campaign, the 11-11-11 iChallenge to Fight Human Trafficking.
Part II is a movie night on campus featuring "Very Young Girls", Wednesday October 26th 7pm. (Free popcorn!)
Part III is a banquet featuring BFA founder, Julie Shematz, Compassion to One's, Phillip Martin, and other local service agency representatives, on Friday, November 18th in the Student Union, Room 214 at 6pm. (Free food!)
What is the 11/11/11 iChallenge?
For any person who donates at least $11 their name will be entered into drawing for $111. And for the person who donates at least $11 and collects $11 from 11 of their friends ($121) their name will be entered into a larger prize drawing. STAFF SEARCH: The BFA Personnel Search Committee, in collaboration with one of our partners, is accepting applications for a Clinical Program Director, Business Administrator, Director of Resources, Residential Program Director, and Case Worker positions. OUTREACH GIFT & CARE PACKAGE ASSEMBLY 1st & 2nd FRIDAYS: Every month, BFA distributes between 50-100 outREACH gift and care packages to victims and survivors of human trafficking locally and nationally. On the 1st and 2nd Fridays of the month from 9am-noon we meet to inventory beauty supplies and assemble these gifts of love, hope, and truth. We meet in Room 500-5 of Barry University. Our next meetings are this Friday, October 7th, & next Friday, the 14th. Make plans to join us today! Learning and community service hours available.
